Essie Resort Fling Swatch and Review

Resort Fling is a bit of an anomaly to me. It isn't a true jelly, crelly, or creme. To me it is a hybrid of all. I probably am making no sense, but I just don't know what to call it. I used four coats plus top coat in all the photos. This polish is very sheer and thin. I did two thin coats and two medium coats. The first coat was like applying tinted water almost. Happily, it did build. The end result looks great, but getting there seemed like a true challenge of patience.

When I look at it, I kind of think of a creamsicle. I do have a love/hate thing going on with this polish. Love the final look, but wish the formula was better. Typical for Essie, you're never really sure what type of formula you'll be working with.

Dollish Polish Afternoon Tea In The Garden Llarowe Exclusive

Welcome everyone. Today I have Dollish Polish Afternoon Tea In The Garden to show you. This is a Llarowe exclusive. And bonus, it's currently on sale!

ATITG is a white crelly with white, black, yellow, green, pink, and blue glitter in various shapes. This can be worn alone, but I chose to layer two coats over one coat of white. I would guess that you would need three coats on its own for full coverage. Applied easily and without issue. I used one coat of KBShimmer clearly on top to smooth it all out. This isn't a chunky glitter, so you shouldn't have any issues with using a regular top coat. Photos in shade and sun.

Hare Polish A Positive swatches

Today I have a super crelly from Hare Polish for you to ogle  : )

A Positive is a berry leaning bright pink crelly. You get the amazing squish of a jelly but it is highly pigmented.  Full of various size silver hexagons. I only needed two medium coats for full coverage.  A regular top coat smooths it all out really nicely.  My only small complaint is that some of the larger glitters tended to stick together.
Photos were taken in natural sun and shade. You can see that in sunlight it has a much brighter appearance. For me, at looked more like the shade shots most of the time.

Divergent Cosmetics nail polish set - Sephora exclusive

Sephora recently released the Divergent Cosmetics make-up and polish line. I admit, I bought them all! My bad. The polish set consists of 6 polishes, 1 transforming top coat, and a set of nail water decals. As mentioned this is exclusive to Sephora and can be found HERE. The set retails for $33.00 cdn. Note that the bottle size is 8.43 ml. So slightly larger then a normal sized mini bottle. The water decals are meant to be cut to the size you want and then applied to the nail like a temporary tattoo. I did not try these. I have to mention that I love the box this comes in.
I did review all 7 polishes so the post is a bit long.

True Pearl is a sheer greenish shimmer. Photos are two coats with top coat. I didn't bother adding any further coats because it won't become opaque. It did apply nicely. I guess this is fine, if you like a sheer look. Personally, I would have labelled it as an effect top coat. The shimmer is very noticeable.

Neutral Lace is a nude beige creme polish. The formula was on the thin side and I needed four coats for full coverage. This also didn't self level and it was finicky to work with. Nothing special enough about it to justify the effort needed to apply.

Opal Compassion is another sheer shimmer. Purple/green shift to this, almost like a duochrome. Again, I stopped at two coats because there was no point in continuing with more. Formula wise there were no issues. Like True Pearl, I would treat this as an effect top coat.

Violet Abnegation is a smokey purple/grey creme. It got greyer with each additional coat, which is unfortunate. I wish more of the purple remained. Three medium coats needed for full coverage. Leveled better then the beige, but still not completely. Top coat did help. Okay formula other then the leveling.

Evolve is the transforming top coat in the set. So really the third top coat we're looking at. I used one coat over Violet Abnegation. No issues with formula. Translucent green and pink. Nothing special really.

Midnight Calm is a deep navy crelly. Unfortunately it ends up looking more black then blue. Three coats were used and again it had a finicky formula. Uneven and didn't self level. As I only swatched this I can't say if there were any issues with staining.

Well, overall thoughts, not good. Sad to say, but I found this entire set to be a big disappointment. Too sheer, too difficult, too blah. I didn't even like the names. Bottles have no design on them and are very small. Which at this point I guess doesn't matter because I don't see myself ever using any of them again. Personally, I would skip these if you have been thinking of getting them. Even if it goes into their sale section I would pass! Although if you have been eyeing any of the make-up sets in the collection they are fantastic. Buy that instead!
Thanks for sticking through the entire post. Hope to see you back soon!

Emily de Molly Soon and stamping

Today I have Emily de Molly Soon and some stamping using plate EDM02.

Soon is a medium grey crelly with various size hexagon glitter in blue, green, fuchsia, and purple. I had full coverage in three coats. You could also layer over a similar colour base. Not too chunky, completely smooth with a coat of Seche Vite.

Emily de Molly recently released five stamping plates. Below is the image I used. I stamped over Soon with Racy by Formula X For Sephora. It is a metallic lavender. I have a review of that polish HERE. Because I have small nails only some of the image is on my nail. Image is also rotated differently on each nail. For those with larger nails, these images should fit. Had no issues with my stamper picking up the image.

For more information on Emily de Molly please visit her site. You will find information on international stockists and her full line of polishes and plates. Plates can be sent worldwide but polish is only directly available for shipping if you are in Australia.

Thank you for stopping in! Have you noticed that my stamping is getting better. Yeah me!

Lucky 13 Lacquer Cherokee Rose swatches

I bought some Lucky 13 Lacquer polishes a few months ago. Sadly I am just getting around to trying my first one! The life of a polish addict, right? I need more hands!

Cherokee Rose has a white/cream crelly base with various size gold glitter and a bit of fine red glitter thrown in. I only needed two coats for this mani! Everything was nice and smooth. Love it!!!

KBShimmer Fall Shades past and present

Today I decided to pair KBShimmer You Autumn Know and Quantum Leaf together. The first is from this years fall collection and the latter from last years collection. I'll admit, they didn't quite go together like I thought they would! Love them individually though.

You Autumn Know is a white based crelly with fuchsia, gold, and orange glitter in hexagons and micro bars. Although micro bar glitter is much easier to deal with, I'm just not a bar glitter fan. Other then that, the colours look great together. I used three thin coats for full coverage. One coat of KBShimmer clearly on top smoothed it all out.

Quantum Leaf has an antique goldish base. Various size orange and red glitter. I look at this and immediately think of fall leaves. Sadly, I think this polish is now discontinued. Photos show three thin coats with a coat of clearly on top to smooth it out.

Julep orange shades

With Halloween and autumn here, I thought I would swatch some orange shades to help you find what you might be looking for! I know I constantly sit down and start thinking about what the right shade would be for a particular design. Today I am starting with three Julep shades for you.

Hayden is described as a neon peach creme. This definitely leans orange to me. Maybe it's just my skin tone. I have used two coats plus top coat. As it's a neon it does dry to a matte finish. Applies nicely, but as you can see, my polish has some areas that the pigments won't mix together any longer. Unfortunately this is visable on the nail. Yes! I did shake, rattle, and roll! Nothin'.

Kaylen is a bright/neon orange crelly. Officially they call this a creme, but no, it isn't. Dries matte, so you'll need a shiny top coat. I have used three coats and still have vnl. Not so noticeable in the pics, but it definitely is in person. My brush in this was wonky, it looks like it has swelled up, making it difficult to apply. Other then that, I like the colour.

Parker is a tangerine creme. Full coverage in two coats, but be careful of pooling at the cuticles. The formula is a bit thin. Photos are with top coat. This is my personal favourite of the three!
