Sally Hansen Color Foils Leaden Lilac

Hi everyone.
I was very excited to finally find the new Sally Hansen Color Foils in store. I picked up three to try. So, today I will be sharing Leaden Lilac with you. I really wanted to try these because I heard that they stamped well. Generally I'm not a fan of foil finishes. I did combine stamping with the swatches.

Leaden Lilac is by itself on the ring and index fingers. I started with a ridge filler base coat and used two coats of Leaden Lilac. It isn't horribly streaky, but still streaky. This is really a fault with most foils, in my opinion. A lot of polish stays on the brush. I recommend trying to get most of it off first. It covers well, so you don't need much. I almost got away with one coat, but was trying to see if I could hide some of the flaws.

The stamping is done using plate MoYou pro 08. Stamped over Cult Nails Nevermore and Tempest. Stamps very well over black, which is a huge plus in my books. Excuse the bad stamping over the white. It is my super curvy nail, but for some reason I couldn't get my squishy stamper to pick up the polish. I had to use my Konad stamper and it doesn't like the curve. So yes, this polish does stamp. And it stamps very well!

For me, I prefer this for stamping and not a straight up polish. It was too streaky for my liking. This is just not a finish for me. How do you feel about these polishes? I purchased this at Shoppers Drug Mart for $8.99 cdn.

Summer Gradient with China Glaze

Happy Summer everyone !!
Today I have a colourful gradient for you. Of course, my gradients are still a technique in progress, so I ended up stamping over it. Which also wasn't perfect, but it was still nice and bright.
The gradient was done over a white base using China Glaze Petal To The Metal, Metro Pollen-tin, and Be More Pacific. Stamping was done with Mundo de Unas Mexican Pink and Konad white using plate MJ XXV. I know the clean up isn't perfect, but my poor cuticles couldn't handle anymore acetone.

I need to mention that the plate I used is a test plate that I received from a giveaway. The plate I have is a bit different from the one on the site, but this design is on it. The rest of the products were purchased by me.
I hope you enjoyed! Cheers.

Butterfly and Dragonfly stamping with Dollarama plates

Good day to everyone!

Today I have some stamping for you. I was testing out a few plates and polishes, so you're getting an odd looking manicure! My base is  Essie Resort Fling which you can see a review of here.  These plates came from a set I found at my local dollar store. The set was $3.00 ( I think ) and came with 5 plates, a stamper, and scraper. The stamper is garbage, but for the price it doesn't really matter! The few designs that I used all worked great.

The plates used are labelled SE18 SE19 and SE21. I couldn't seem to find an actual brand name anywhere.
Stamping polishes are Konad Deep Jungle, Mundo de Unas # 14 Violet, and Mentality Sly.
I guess we have all learned not to ignore our dollar stores, you never know what treasures you may find. I'll add the links for where you can find the polishes. Have a great day everyone.

Stamped jelly sandwich OPI and Lily Anna

This manicure was created with stamping in between a layer of jelly polish.

My polish is OPI Too Hot Pink To Hold Em. Stamping plate used was Lily Anna 04 with Konad white stamping polish. I started with two coats of polish followed by the stamping. Then I applied one more coat of the jelly polish.

I think this turned out okay. It is a fairly subtle design in person, but pretty. It is certainly easy enough to do, which is nice. Products can be found at Messy Mansion or Nail Polish Canada.
Thanks for the visit!

The base colour for all nails is Color Club Look, Don't Tusk. The stamping is Mentality Scoundrel and MoYou London plate pro 08. The glitter accent nails are done with Glam Polish Day Dreamer. The lead lighting is done with L'Oreal jellies in Lilac Coolers, Creme de Mint, Bananarama Love,  Jolly Lolly, and Berry Nice.
For those that have tried this technique using the OPI Sheer Tints, I have to mention that the L'Oreals work much better.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed!

OPI Sheer Tints collection - various manicures

Today's post is a bit different then my usual, so please bare with me. Since the OPI Sheer Tints are too sheer to be shown as a regular mani, I thought I would share a few different manicures I've done using them. This will be a bit pic heavy!

The OPI Sheer Tints collection consists of four jelly polishes. I Can Teal You Like Me - sheer teal blue. Don't Violet Me Down - sheer purple. I'm Never Amberrassed - sheer yellow orange. Be Magentale With Me - sheer dark pink.

I find these polishes quite versatile when it comes to nail art design. So many options. Unfortunately I find the formula itself to be lacking. It tends to dry on the too fast side and becomes stringy as a result. But if you apply it too thick, it doesn't seem to dry at all. I also notice a lot of bubbles in the finished product. If layering, give it a few minutes between coats to set or you will pull off your previous layer.

Up first is Be Magentale With Me over a simple stamping design. I forgot to write down what plate I used. Now I can't seem to find it! This is one coat.

This is what is referred to as the LeadLight technique. This technique is credited to Messy Mansion. I used all four of the colours to fill in the stamp. Plate is LilyAnna 06. You can see some of the little stringy bits hanging off the end of the nail. The base is Marc Jacobs Fluorescent Beige. You can see a full review of that polish HERE.

Last for today is what I am calling my Tie Dye nails. Drops of all four shades dropped onto the nail and then swirled around with a dotter. I had to do one nail at a time or it would dry too quickly to move around. One drop of each colour still made this very thick. You'll notice build up at the side of my nails. I tried to clean it up, but it was just making it worse. Tons of bubbles throughout.

So there you have it. Jellies really are fun to work with. Let your imagination run wild! I'll be trying out a few more manicures with these, even though they aren't my favourites. I purchased these from Nail Polish Canada.  For more information on LeadLight and LilyAnna plates visit Messy Mansion.

Thanks for visiting today. I hope you liked the post!

Divergent theme nail stamping

Happy Friday. Today my daughter and I are going to see the Divergent movie. Of course, this called for a mani to go with it! Very excited. I hope the movie doesn't disappoint.

Polish used on nails. OPI Skull & Glossbones, Give Me The Moon, I Saw U Saw We Saw Warsaw, Cult Nails Nevermore. Stamping done with Maybelline Bold Gold, Vernis Classique Copper, Mundo De Unas # 2 black and # 34 dark grey. Plates used BM H-08, JR 13 and 29 and MJ XV.

I hope you enjoyed my interpretation! I had to improvise a bit with stamps. The zombie hands weren't really the best choice, but that was what I had.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Mentality Meeny plus stamping

Today I have Mentality Meeny for you to ogle!

Meeny is an olive leaning green holographic. Definite gold flash to this. This is one of Mentality's stamping polishes, but you obviously don't just have to use it for stamping. Photos show two coats of Meeny with top coat. There are some minimal brush strokes visible. The stamping is done with Meeny over Julep Kate using MoYou plate  sailor 04. No issues with the polish being picked up by the stamp. I was using a squishy stamper.
