Go Seahawks Super Bowl Nails

Well, as you may have guessed, I'll be cheering for the Seahawks today. This was a tough call. I am a Patriots fan too. My prediction is that it will be a close game. Anyway, enjoy the nails!

Rica Leopard Spot Glitter Polishes Swatches

Today I have three new glitter toppers from Rica Polish. All three feature the new leopard spot glitters that are popping up in polishes. Post is pic heavy!

L - R: LF Neon Leopard, The Cat's Meow, Purrfectly Kissed
Rica leopard glitter polishes

Quick rundown for you. All of these required the leopard spots to be fished out. These have what I call a "slippery" base. Meaning the glitter slides off the brush as you take it out of the bottle. All are finished with a coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and a top coat.

Purrfectly Kissed features a pastel pink leopard glitter with various pastel glitters and micro blue glitter. Layered over Barielly Money Talks. This is two coats of the smaller glitters and placing of the leopard spots. The fishing was fairly easy with this one.

LF Neon Leopard ( Lisa Frank inspired ) Features white leopard with various bright and black glitter in micro and small sizes. One coat layered over Illamasqua Grab. This had the best coverage of the bunch. One leopard came out of the bottle on its own. The rest were placed but the easiest to fish.

The Cat's Meow is a silver holographic leopard with silver, blue, and purple holo glitters. This was the sparsest coverage of the three.  At times I would only have one glitter on the brush. This also required a lot of effort to get the leopard spots out of the bottle. This is layered over Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pagan. I really loved the combo of these two together.

Although these don't have the greatest application, I do like the way they look. Tons of layering options with these too. What do you think? Worth the effort? These polishes are available from Rica's Etsy Shop.
Thanks for sticking through the whole post.

My First Nimbus Manicure

Welcome all!  Today I have my first attempt at a Nimbus manicure. This technique came from the Nailasaurus. You can view her tutorial HERE. This technique is fairly straight forward and doesn't take a long time to do.

I started with a white base. Colours used are MckFresh Nail Attire Do Ba Dee Goo Goo, OPI Amazon Amazoff, Rica Prim & Proper, and Barry M Sugar Apple.
My only complaint was the bubbles I ended up with. I'll need to work on that!

I really loved this, and I will defininetly be doing more of them. There are some parts of this manicure that didn't quite turn out that well, but live and learn. I'm sure my next try will be better.
Thanks for this visit. Hope you liked it!

Autumn Leaves Stamping MoYou London Mother Nature 07

I've finally done a fall manicure. The weather has changed, so I thought it was time.

My base is Girly Bits King of the Lab. I then dry brushed on a bit of Cirque Lichen and stamped with Rica Mother Earth using MoYou plate Mother Nature 07.

Some of the stamping got lost over the darker green areas. Live and learn, I guess. I was still pretty happy with how it turned out.

Stamping with MoYou Tropical plates and Rica Polishes

Summer is winding down but I am determined to drag it out on my nails. The brighter the better! Today I went with some bright stamping.

My base is A England Iseult. It is a fabulous pale pink with a subtle shimmer. Index and pinky fingers are stamped with MoYou Tropical plate 12 using Rica stamping polish in Summer Mint. The flamingo's are Tropical plate 06 using Rica polish in Pinky Promise. No issues to report with the plates or polishes.

I really liked the way these turned out. They got a lot of notice, that's for sure! My summer will be going out in a bang. At least on my nails ;) I do need to mention that Pinky Promise is being discontinued due to issues with availabiliy of a pigment. Some international stockists still have it in stock. Act quickly!

Rica Polish Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Today I have Rica Girls Just Wanna Have Fun for you to ogle. This is a pink to purple thermal polish with some added bling.
I used three light coats plus top coat. You may be able to get away with two if you have shorter nails. The formula was good and I had no issues.

I like that the shimmer is always visible. Sometimes it can get lost with thermal polishes. I do love a good thermal. It's like cheating on a gradient ;)
