Papillon by Rainbow Honey

Hello all! Today I have a new Rainbow Honey shade for you.

Papillon is a glitter top coat featuring pink holographic butterfly glitter. Also contains pink, purple glitter and some holographic shimmer.  I have this layered over Revlon Ripe Raspberry. No fishing was needed for the large glitter, although you can see in the photos on my index finger that some of them do stick together. I used two coats plus top coat. Mostly smooth, but some edges of the butterflies did flare at the edges. This is common with the larger glitters, so nothing surprising.

Papillon is part of the new spring collection which I believe is releasing in March. For more information and a list of stockists, please visit Rainbow Honey.

Rainbow Honey Magic Cake and The Kraken swatches and review

Good day everyone! Today I have two Rainbow Honey polishes that were sent for review. Magic Cake and The Kraken. Both of these are from the Summer 199X collection.

We'll start with Magic Cake. This is a glitter topper. Neon glitter is various shapes and sizes. Pink, green, yellow and blue. Also some iridescent flecks. I used two coats of Magic Cake over Formula X for Sephora in Zap. No issues to report with application. Didn't need to fish out the larger glitter. Smooth with a top coat.

The Kraken is a blue jelly filled with glitter and shimmer in blues and bronze. It's actually kind of hard to tell. They all blend together really well. Pretty good coverage for a jelly. I used three coats plus top coat. I have to mention that at least on my nail it did tend to have a bit more of a green/teal lean to it. Couldn't quite capture that in the pics. I liked this one too! Normally blues aren't my thing so I was pleasantly surprised.

Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk collection

Today I have two polishes from The Sweet Talk collection. This set will be re-releasing tomorrow on the Rainbow Honey site. Follow on Facebook for all the details!

XOXO is a glitter topper. Lots of holo shimmer in the clear base. Predominately red with some purple and gold. No issues with application. I used one coat over A England Iseult.

Sweet Talk is a white crelly base with pink shimmer. Light blue, purple and red glitter. I used three coats for full coverage. You could also layer over white. Applied perfectly. The shimmer is subtle, but more noticeable in person. Smooth with regular top coat.

Rainbow Honey Summer 199X

Today I have three shades from Rainbow Honey's Summer of 199X collection. Lumine Hall, Pink Cloud and I Miss You.

Lumine Hall is an indigo jelly based glitter polish with iridescent squares thrown in. Slightly purple leaning in certain lighting. Three coats were needed for full coverage. This dries a bit gritty, so make sure to use a good top coat. This does tend to clump on the brush a bit. Make sure to have a look before applying so you don't end up with a random glob on your nail!

Pink Cloud is a bright pink jelly with pink, silver and iridescent glitter. The first coat was very sheer, but with three coats I had complete coverage. The glitter gives a very nice flash to this polish. No issues with application. This was my favourite of the three.

I Miss You is a clear based glitter topper with pastel hearts, butterflies, squares and shimmer. I used one coat and then dabbed on some of the larger glitter. No fishing was needed, but you need to be careful of the larger glitter being stuck together. The large squares were the most elusive. A good top coat is needed to smooth this out. My base is Girly Bits Mint To Be.

Rainbow Honey The Final Battle swatches

Today I have two polishes from Rainbow Honey's The Final Battle collection. Ruby Weapon and Lifestream.

Rainbow Honey is now being carried at Nail Polish Canada, and they sent me these to review. Retail price is $11.50 cdn and all orders within Canada currently ship free. They also ship to the United States free on orders over $50.00 or a $12.00 fee for orders under $50.00. Nail Polish Canada has a wide selection of Rainbow Honey polishes.

Ruby Weapon is red with gold and copper shimmer. Kind of has a burnt look to it. I had full coverage in two coats on my nails. May require three with longer nails. Very smooth application and self leveled completely. Eye catching without being in your face, which I like. Shimmer is very noticeable. Photos with top coat, but this is very shiny on its own.

Lifestream is a clear based holographic shimmer with green and white glitter. Also some iridescent micro bar glitter. Great coverage for a clear based glitter. The only problem I encountered with application was some of the glitter dragging over the nail tip. Easily remedied by tapping it back on! All glitter was flat to the nail and smooth with one coat of top coat. Index finger shows two coats of Lifestream with no undies, the rest shows one coat of Lifestream over Sally Hansen Jaded.

Rainbow Honey Tessie and Apple Kid

Today's post features pretty shimmers. Thought I would branch out from all the darker shades I have been swatching lately. These two polishes are from the Summer of 199X collection.

Apple Kid is a bright pink/fuchsia  that is full of shimmer. Fabulous formula on this one! Photos are two coats with top coat.
