China Glaze Don't Let The Dead Bite Swatches

Today I have swatches of Don't Let The Dead Bite. This is the only polish I got from the China
Glaze Halloween polishes this year. The rest just didn't look appealing to me.

This has a flesh toned nude crelly base with various shapes of red glitter. It applied really easily and I had full coverage in two coats. Photos below are with top coat.

These two photos are with OPI matte top coat.

I think I preferred it matted. Anyway, I liked this, but didn't love it. Formula wise there were no issues. It was actually quite flattering with my skin tone. I was surprised by that.
Thanks for the visit. Hope you aren't sick of Halloween polishes yet!

Dauphine by Pipe Dream Polish swatches

Today I have Dauphine from Pipe Dream Polish.  This polish was part of the Sweet Addictions September box that is available through Cupcake Polish.

Dauphine is a pink leaning nude crelly with blue and white glitter. It applies nicely, but is a bit chunky. Make sure to give it a good layer of top coat to smooth. I also had a few bubbles on one nail. Not sure why, but it is there. Again, just one nail, so I don't think this is going to be an issue.

Dupe or Different - Lime Crime Milky Ways vs Color Club Look, Don't Tusk

Hi everyone. Happy Tuesday?

Today I have a comparison post for you. Lime Crime Milky Ways and Color Club Look, Don't Tusk.
As it turns out, they aren't as close to one another as I though they would be. Milky Ways is a touch on the creamier looking side opposed to the Color Club which I find to be a true ivory shade. For the photos I used two coats of each polish. The Lime Crime did have a few bubbles in it. The Lime Crime polishes tend to separate and since you have to give them a really good shake, I always end up with a few bubbles. I would roll them, but the shape of the bottle prevents that. Other then that, both the formulas are very similar. Both work well as bases for nail art. On there own, I find them a bit bland. In the pics I have Milky Ways on my index and ring fingers. Look, Don't Tusk is on my middle and pinky fingers.

Well, there you have it. They definitely aren't dupes! If you are looking for nail art bases, both of these are great. Of course, you will have a much easier time finding Color Club polishes. Lime Crime always seems to be on back order.
Thanks for the visit and I hope you enjoyed the post.

Marc Jacobs nail polish Fluorescent Beige

Today I have my first Marc Jacobs polish for you. This was purchased from Sephora. I realized while editing that I forgot to clean up my pinky finger. Please ignore!

Fluorescent Beige is a pink/brown nude with a light purple shimmer. The shimmer is only noticeable in certain lighting, but it is mighty pretty. I found this to be quite flattering and would think that it would be a work appropriate shade. I used three thin coats plus top coat. Nice formula and no issues with leveling or streaking.

I also have to say that I think the bottles are pretty. The outer cap pulls off with no issues, so there is no fussing with a strangely shaped top.
Do you have any Marc Jacobs polish? Do you like them? I always like to try to new brands. Thanks for the visit, and I hope to see you back soon.

Deborah Lippmann No More Drama and Through The Fire swatches

I picked up these two polishes from a sale at Nail Polish Canada. They are clearing out the DL's as they will no longer be carrying the brand.

No More Drama is a caramel shade with a rose gold shimmer. Slight pearl finish. Formula was thin, watch for pooling, but highly pigmented. Full coverage in two coats. Work appropriate, I would think. Quite liked this nude. Didn't seem to rebel against my skin tone. Created with Mary J. Blige.

Through The Fire is an aptly named deep garnet shade. Shimmer/pearl finish. Great formula with full coverage in two coats. Super shiny even without top coat. Very eye catching in person!

Julep Kelly and Penelope

I was in the mood to swatch some nude/neutrals today. Not sure why? I chose two Julep shades, Kelly and Penelope.

KELLY is described as a blush creme. I think it leans a bit to the peach side. Went well with my skin tone, but I can see how this wouldn't suit for everyone. Formula is a bit thin and required 3 coats. I found it to be streaky, which you'll see evidence of in the photos. I do like the colour. Maybe with a more careful application in wouldn't look as bad?

PENELOPE is a pink/blush creme polish. Exact same formula as Kelly. Photos are 3 coats. Again, a bit streaky. Another pretty colour though!

So, what do you think? Do you wear neutral colours?

If you wish to sign up to become a Julep Maven you can do that here.

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the polish world. I always appreciate it and welcome your comments.
