Yule Light Up My Life by Serum No 5

This polish was part of a trio released as an LE Holiday collection. The other two polishes are HoHo Holodays by Lacquer Lust and Naughty and Nice from Polished by KPT.

Yule Light Up My Life is a glitter topper that glows in the dark. Unfortunately I don't have a black light so I failed at getting a picture of the glow. I can see red, gold, green, blue, black and maybe some other colours in this topper. It is really a lot of fun. It also isn't limited to just wearing it for the holidays. I decided to layer this over China Glaze Elephant Walk. I used two coats. Applied very easily.

I really liked this combo, but of course you could layer it over just about anything. For more information, please visit Serum No. 5 site. Currently shipping of polish is only available to the US and Canada, but you can find a list of stockists on the site.
Thanks for having a look at today's post. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Black Friday was part of Llarowe's November A Box, Indied. Unfortunately, this was the only option for purchase of this polish. It makes for a great new years mani. It is like fireworks in a bottle! Three thin coats with top coat. Holy Grail was purchased from Nail Polish Canada. Like every A England polish I have tried, it was flawless!
Have a safe night everyone! See you in 2014.

Christmas Now by KBShimmer

Christmas Now is from the Christmas blogger collection. This polish was made with Crystal's Crazy Combos. When I think of Christmas glitter, this is what comes to mind!

Christmas Now is a bright green jelly filled with gold stars and various size and colours of squares and circles. And when I say filled, I mean FILLED! So much glitter that you don't need to go hunting for anything. Application was easy considering everything in this polish. I did need two coats of Clearly On Top to mostly smooth it out. This applies thickly, so you should only need two coats. And it is a jelly, so it can also be layered.

Green, squishy goodness! As you know, I am partial to green. KBShimmer can be purchased from their site HERE, or if you are international, you can buy from Harlow & Co.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are all ready for the holidays.

Festive Stamping with MoYou London

Yes, I know this isn't the best stamping ever, but it was a victory of sorts. I finally managed to get a squishy stamper to work! (mostly)

I used MoYou London plate Festive 04. Base colour is Julep Kate and stamped with Mentality Sexy. So, overall this turned out okay. I think the biggest problem is that the designs are too big for my itty, bitty nails! Live and learn, I now know not to order the XL plates. The regular will be fine for my nail size.

As you can see, the patterns were too big for my nails. Still proud of myself for making improvements. Thanks for having a look today!

OPI Underneath the Mistletoe and Sally Hansen Twinkle Toes-ty

One week till Christmas! How did that happen? I should be wrapping gifts right now, but how can I resist posting pretty polish swatches. Today I have OPI Underneath The Mistletoe and Sally Hansen Twinkle Toes-ty accent.

Underneath The Mistletoe is a red crelly with fine glitter thrown in. Applied perfectly in two coats. Super eye catching in person. I feel the cranberry vibe when I look at it. Top coat really makes it stand out. No issues to report.
Twinkle Toes-ty is a clear based topper with gold and pink holographic glitter in fine and medium. I LOVE this. I truly don't think I have anything quite like it! Could be worn over a variety of colours. This is two coats as an accent. Coverage was pretty even and the base wasn't too thick.

OPI Ski Slope Sweetie

Ski Slope Sweetie is from the Mariah Carey 2013 Holiday collection.

This is a pearly white with golden shimmer. I have this worn on its own, but it can also be layered. For the pics I have three coats plus top coat. There is still some vnl, which is my only complaint about this polish. The golden shimmer is very noticeable. Applied without any issues. Hard to capture the white in photos.

Well, I really like it. Although I do realize this won't be everyone's cup of tea! The entire collection is quite large, so I only purchased a few. I hope to have those swatched and posted soon. Thanks for stopping in.

Smitten Polish - Adeste Fidelis

Continuing my month of indie polishes with some Smitten Polish. I have to say that I have about 6 Smitten polishes and I love them all. Will definitely be looking forward to new polishes that Noelie puts out this year.
Today I decided on Adeste Fidelis. This is a white jelly base polish with rose, pale green, and copper glitters. So pretty. And even though this is part of the holiday collection it can be worn year round. It is also very springy themed to me. Photos are shown with 3 coats. No undies. Needs a good top coat to help smooth out. It isn't horribly chunky, but I really hate rough nails. On to the pics...

Smitten Polish can be purchased on etsy here.

Hope you enjoyed todays post. Polish was purchased by me and all opinions are my own.

Festive Floam!

I know, the holidays are done, but I didn't get the chance to post this one. Festive Floam by Ninja Polish. I love Floam, any Floam! The various Floam polishes can be purchased at Ninja Polish.

For some sparkly, festive goodness, I layered this over China Glaze Champagne Kisses. A little different, I know, but I liked it! Call me crazy.

So Sparkly!

I love how the 2 polishes combined almost looked like it was just 1 polish! This is 2 coats of Festive Floam, a coat of glitter food and top coat. Nice and smooth! What do you all think? Thanks for looking.

*all opinion are, as always, my own*

You'll Shoot Yer Eye Out, Kid!

You'll Shoot Your Eye Out, Kid is part of Dollish Polish A Christmas Story 2012 Collection. A clear based holographic glitter with large snowflakes. The listing stated that the snowflakes were "stubborn" but that may have been an understatement. Over the course of an hour I had only managed to fish out 4 of the snowflakes. Yes, I said 4. At that point I was done. Even with my frustration, I did like this polish. It's nice without the snowflake glitters. The base is a bit thick, but still applied easily. I applied this over essence Grey-t to be here.

I'm not sure why my camera is showing some of the glitter as a dirty gold. It doesn't look like that in natural lighting.

Well, any thoughts. Dollish Polish can be found here. I'm not sure if her Christmas story polishes are still available or not.

Girly Bits Heirloom

More holiday collection polishes today. I am determined to get through all the ones I ordered before the end of December! Wish me luck.

Heirloom from Girly Bits is from her Season of Sparkle collection. Unfortunately her shop is now closed for the holidays but they can still be purchased from a few other sellers. Pam has a list of them on her blog here.

Heirloom is described as "A clear based glitter with all the vintage shades of a Victorian era Holiday". I think this pretty much sums it up. It is very pretty. The hardest thing about this polish was deciding what to layer it over. I went with Sally Hansen Mousseline. Applied smoothly and wasn't overly top coat thirsty.

This could be layered over so many different colours. I love having options. It really does seem Victorian to me. Love this. Can't wait to swatch the rest of the holiday polishes I purchased from Girly Bits. Thanks for looking everyone!

Holiday collection Pretty & Polished

Good morning everyone! Hope you all are enjoying your Tuesday. Todays post contains 3 polishes from the Pretty & Polished holiday collection. P& P's shop can be found HERE.

Xmas Wreath is a dusty green shimmer polish with small gold and red glitters. Some slightly larger red hexes and larger green shredded glitter. I love the shredded glitters. Found it added something unique to this polish. Photos are 3 coats. No top coat. Applied easily. I think this would be great with a matte top coat.

Everybody Loves Penguin is a white creme base with yellow/gold round glitter, black small and large hex glitter. I did have a hard time getting the large hexes out of the bottle. It was possible with some fishing. This could be because it's a mini size bottle. Photos are 3 coats, no undies. Still some vnl, so next time I will definitely layer this over white.

S'no Mans Land is a white shimmer polish with small holographic glitter mixed with larger white hex glitters. I loved this! My favourite of the collection so far. No problems with application. Pictures show 3 coats no undies. You can definitely layer this polish. Still had some vnl, but still loved it anyway! That says a lot coming from me, because I can't stand vnl usually.

Well, what do you all think? Do you have a favourite from this collection?

Happy Holodays Duo

Pretty & Polished Happy Holodays duo consists of two polishes from her holiday line. Ruby and Holodays glitter topper. They were definitely meant to go together!

Ruby applied easily in two coats. I find this colour actually leans a bit more berry in person. Its so shiny! Photos are with no top coat. Please excuse that I didn't do any clean-up. I was doing a swatch fest and couldn't be bothered. I know, sacrilege. On to the pics...

The glitter topper is a mix of holo red and green hexes in a clear base. No problems with application. Everything laid smoothly on the nail.

Don't these look fantastic together. Very festive!

Pretty & Polished can be purchased HERE in Chelsea's new shop. Or if you prefer Etsy her shop there is currently still open ETSY
