Zoya Kalista

Zoya Kalista is a warm brown with plum undertones and a golden shimmer. The first coat was all plum and turned brown as the coats progressed. I needed three coats for full coverage. Average drying time. Photos are with top coat.

This shade screams Fall to me. I truly love it! It even looked good on my newly shortened nails, yeah. What do you think of this?

Julie G swatches

I have two Julie G polishes for you today. Umbrella Drink and Butterflies & Rosebuds.

Formula wise these two polishes are identical so I'll just give you the rundown for both. Perfect application, only two coats needed for full coverage. Self leveled on its own. No pulling or dragging to report. All photos are two coats with top coat.

Umbrella Drink is a sorbet orange with golden shimmer. Happy to announce that the shimmer does not get lost in translation.

Butterflies & Rosebuds is a plum/fuchsia shimmer. The shimmer stands out so much in this that it almost broke the camera. You'll see what I mean. It looks like I have added some sort of effect to the pics, but I haven't. Sorry.

These are my first two Julie G polishes. I bought them at my first ever trip to a Rite-Aid. Weird I know, but as I am Canadian we don't have that chain. Very happy with these! I'll definitely try to get more the next time I cross the border!
Thanks for stopping in everyone!

OPI Mauving to Manitoba

This definitely falls into the oldie but goodie category! From what I could find online, I believe this polish made it's debut in 2004 and has since been made part of the classic line.

Mauve is a strange colour for me. Too many definitions of it. I'll call this a plum mauve. If you disagree, leave me a comment. I promise I won't take offense! The formula of Mauving to Manitoba is absolutely amazing! This was almost a one coater. I used two thin coats. Had my first coat been thicker I am sure I would have had full coverage. Photos are with top coat, but dried shiny on its own. Nothing makes this polish stand out, but it is pretty. What are your thoughts?

Risen Angel

Hey everyone, and welcome to all the new faces! Today I am happy to share my first Above The Curve polish, Risen Angel!

Above The Curve is a husband and wife team that donate $1.00 from each polish sold to charity. Originally the charity was Shriner's Hospital, but recently they have branched out to include other organizations from time to time. For April they were donating to Autism Speaks. So of course, I bought a bunch of polish. I have a 13 year old son with Autism, so I am always willing to give to the cause. They have also donated to breast cancer research.
Above The Curve have two stores. One on etsy and one on big cartel. Prices vary and they currently have a sale going on with some fantastic prices. I suggest you check it out!

RISEN ANGEL is a dark plum scattered holographic polish. Photos are shown with three coats plus topcoat. Formula was good, but did start to thicken up a bit by the time I got to the third coat. I just had to be a bit careful at that point. Pics taken in direct sunlight.

I do love my scattered holo's. I seem to gravitate towards them without realizing it. I hope you enjoyed today's post and hope to see you back soon!

Smolder by Maya Costmetics

Maya Cosmetics is a polish brand that was launched in October 2012.  All polish is 3 free, cruelty free, and vegan. You can find the site here. Bottles retail for $9.50 US. per bottle and shipping is available worldwide.

SMOLDER is described as a  blackened plummy brown with a pink, red, bronze shimmer. I would say that's pretty accurate. The first coat applied streaky, but evened out very well with the second coat. Photos show 2 coats of smolder. No top coat used in the pics. All photos taken in sunlight.

Thanks for visiting today. Hope to see you all back soon!
