CrowsToes Milquetoast

My first CrowsToes polish!  Very excited, and this polish did not disappoint!

Milquetoast is a cream crelly base full of various size copper glitter, with a lighter dusting of gold micro glitter. Full coverage in three easy coats. No digging or placing of glitter required. I did use of coat of Gelous to smooth it out followed by top coat.

Delush Polish Lady Sybiling

Delush Polish Lady Sybiling from the Downton A List collection. Based on the show Downton Abbey. Lady Sybiling is a frosty emerald green base packed with various glitters. Each nail looks different so it's hard to say exactly what is in the bottle! Great application. I had full coverage in two coats. And the extra bonus, this dried extremely fast. A coat of top coat smooths everything out nicely.

Delush Polish can be purchased here. Full size retail for $8.95 US and minis are $4.50. This polish is currently in stock! Thank you for sharing some time with me today. I hope you are enjoying the first day of summer.

F4 Polish Melt Me

Melt Me is a white creme base with various size and shape glitter in yellow, purple, blue and red. I used two coats plus a bit of dabbing of Melt Me over a base of white. Topped with a coat of Gelous and top coat. Still slightly rough to the touch, so I suggest possibly two coats of Gelous or something similar. Although it doesn't really translate in the photos, anywhere where the larger yellow glitters are, it appeared that the polish had yellowed a bit. It's almost like those glitters were softer and kind of smeared during application. I have no idea if that makes sense to you. The only way I can think of to explain it.

Play Me by Contrary Polish swatch and review

Play Me is my first ever Contrary Polish! Polishes are available from a few different online stores so I recommend checking HERE so you can choose the best ordering option for yourself. There is also a link for ordering mini's directly from Contrary Polish. Their facebook page also has updates regularly, so I suggest you follow along.

Play Me is a mauve grey with a green/blue shimmer. In the pics the shimmer looks blue, but in person, you do get a major green flash. I caught myself staring at my nails a few times! Formula was nice to work with. Three coats were needed for full coverage. Average drying time. Photos are with top coat.

The shimmer is much more noticeable in person. Quite eye catching. I really loved this polish. It was very me! Thanks for having a peek!

F4 Polish Cupids Crush

A valentines polish...gasp! I know, I am a bit late.

Cupids Crush is a clear based glitter topper with micro pink and white glitter and small red squares. The clear base is thick but very manageable. I have applied two coats of Cupids Crush over OPI Skull & Glossbones plus a generous top coat. I really like the look over the light grey. Makes all the glitter on the nail really stand out. Of course, after I did this, I decided that next time I will do it over orange. I think this would make a great summer mani!

Pure Ice Peony and Free Spirit

So, I was strolling through Walmart the other day and came across a display of Pure Ice polishes. Of course, it had been pretty thoroughly picked through, but two did catch my eye. Retail price was $1.97 cdn.

PEONY is a bright pink frost with subtle shimmer. On the verge of being neon, but not quite. Formula is a bit thick but very manageable. Dries quickly, but dulls down. Photos are two coats with top coat. I was left with a bit of brush stroke.

FREE SPIRIT is a bright medium green creme with subtle shimmer. I think this falls in the neon category, personally. Formula on this is thin. Wasn't difficult to apply, but three coats were needed. A bit streaky but that was corrected by the third coat. Again, this dried quickly but to a dull finish. Pics are with top coat. One of those annoying to capture colours. These were the most accurate.

I would say for the price that these were a score. I'll definitely use them again. Now I know to keep my eye out when I am in Walmart to see if they ever restock their display! So, have you tried this brand? Thoughts? It's my first time with this brand. Thanks for having a look. Hope to see you back soon!

A England Rose Bower

Rose Bower is from the new Burne-Jones Dream collection.  A England is no longer able to ship internationally, but they do have an extensive network of suppliers. Please check this LINK for where to buy!

ROSE BOWER is described as a deep red holographic. To be honest, I find this to be more of a berry red on me. Great holographic shimmer that gave my camera fits! You'll see what I mean in the photos. Sorry in advance. Like most A England polishes it is a thicker formula and is almost a one coater. I used two coats with topcoat. It does dry slightly matted.  My only complaint is that I started to notice tip wear in less then a day. Make sure to wrap your tips really well!

Overall, I am very pleased with this polish. Adore the colour and can see myself wearing this any time of year! Do you have this polish yet? Do you love it, too? Love to hear from readers.

Julep swatch and review

I picked three random Julep polishes from my collection to show you today. All Julep polishes are "4 free".

ALYSON is an almond creme. Nice appropriate work neutral shade. Nothing spectacular colour wise. Application was a bit tricky with this formula. It didn't self level on its own, and tended to leave lines where the polish was applied. Top coat did help but not completely. Photos are three coats with top coat.

ALICE is a lavender shimmer. I feel it leans a bit to a frost polish as well. The shimmer is very subtle. Formula wise, this was great. Full coverage in two coats and no streaking or leveling issues to report. Photos are two coats with top coat.

LILY is described as a hot fuchsia creme, however this was more crelly for me. I've included a bottle shot, because it actually looks like some of the pigment is separating. Even after a good shake, rattle, and roll, there was no change. I think this is why the formula isn't as described. Dried slightly matte. Still like the colour. I did end up with a few bubbles on one nail. Photos are three coats with top coat.

Is It Payday Yet?

Today I have Sephora by OPI Is It Payday Yet?  I happened to find this at my local Winners!  Every once in a while I find a nice haul there.

Is It Payday Yet? is a yellow leaning limeish green. Normally shades like this don't work for me, but this one did. It is a bit of a strange colour however, and won't appeal to everyone. Great formula. Full coverage in two coats and leveled on its own really well. Photos are shown with top coat.

This would also be a great polish for using in nail art, I think. For more from this brand, they can be found at the Sephora website, or in store, if you have one locally.

Thanks for having a look. As always, I love to hear from readers, so feel free to comment below!

Quo by Orly Bubble Bath

The Quo by Orly polish is a Shopper's Drug Mart exclusive here in Canada. Most of these polishes are just dupes of Orly polish with a different name. Bubble Bath is the dupe of Peaceful Opposition.

Bubble Bath is a milky white base with matte white squares and hexagons and silver squares and hexagons. Applied nicely in three coats. This would also look great layered! A coat of seche vite smoothed it out.

Thanks again for stopping by. I always appreciate it!
