Models Own Absinthe velvet goth collection

Models Own Absinthe from their Velvet Goth collection. Designed to be matte and sparkly at the same time. Absinthe is mainly emerald green with black and silver glitter along with some larger lighter green glitter. Photos are two coats and then a bit of dabbing. I still missed a few spots. Found this formula a little hard to apply smoothly. It tended to clump on the brush. Use caution!

I have another shade from this collection swatched HERE. I liked this both with and with out top coat. I know everyone has their own preference when it comes to these types of polish.
This polish was purchased from Nail Polish Canada.

OPI Ski Slope Sweetie

Ski Slope Sweetie is from the Mariah Carey 2013 Holiday collection.

This is a pearly white with golden shimmer. I have this worn on its own, but it can also be layered. For the pics I have three coats plus top coat. There is still some vnl, which is my only complaint about this polish. The golden shimmer is very noticeable. Applied without any issues. Hard to capture the white in photos.

Well, I really like it. Although I do realize this won't be everyone's cup of tea! The entire collection is quite large, so I only purchased a few. I hope to have those swatched and posted soon. Thanks for stopping in.

Revlon Chroma Chameleon

Hi everyone!  Today I have two polishes from the Revlon Chroma Chameleon collection. This was a set of colour shifting or duochromes that was released a while ago. I happened to find these on clearance for $1.99 cdn at my local drug store.

Amethyst is a true duochrome that shifts from purple to green. I used three thin coats for full coverage. The formula is a bit sticky, so I recommend that you let dry a bit before applying more coats. Minimal brush strokes. This is quite eye catching, but at the same time it isn't all that unique.

Topaz in the bottle looks like a green to blue colour shift. However on the nail it just translated to a green gold metallic finish. No matter what, I couldn't see a flash of blue. Also required three thin coats for full coverage. Again, minimal brush strokes. This was a disappointment as I was looking for a duochrome finish.

If you are interested in these you might just want to search the clearance section of your local drug store.

Emily de Molly Fashion Victim

Well, if you need a pick me up, I have one for you today. I needed something a bit brighter so I went with Emily de Molly Fashion Victim.

Fashion Victim is a bright pink jelly with various sized pink glitter including holographic. Applied really nicely for something with this amount of glitter in it. I only needed two coats for full coverage. A third coat would be required for those with longer nails. My photos are with top coat. Any curl you see is just reflective. No curling to report!

Models Own velvet goth Amethyst

The Models Own Velvet Goth collection is a set of matte glitter polishes in what they call a 2D finish. Meaning matte and sparkly at the same time. Today I will be showing you Amethyst.

Amethyst has a bright purple base with fine and small glitter in purple, silver and magenta. First coat is patchy, but complete coverage with the second. Dries quite quickly to a matte finish. This is slightly bumpy to the touch, but not quite textured. No issues with it, really.

I actually liked this polish both with and without top coat. I'll have to say the only fault I can find is with the bottles lid. The velvet top kind of weirds me out a bit. Please note that I did not test for wear time or staining.
Hope you liked and I have one more polish to swatch from this collection. Hopefully soon.

Deborah Lippmann No More Drama and Through The Fire swatches

I picked up these two polishes from a sale at Nail Polish Canada. They are clearing out the DL's as they will no longer be carrying the brand.

No More Drama is a caramel shade with a rose gold shimmer. Slight pearl finish. Formula was thin, watch for pooling, but highly pigmented. Full coverage in two coats. Work appropriate, I would think. Quite liked this nude. Didn't seem to rebel against my skin tone. Created with Mary J. Blige.

Through The Fire is an aptly named deep garnet shade. Shimmer/pearl finish. Great formula with full coverage in two coats. Super shiny even without top coat. Very eye catching in person!

Overall, I really loved both of these! Great formula and shades. And even like them more since I got them on sale! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Scofflaw Nail Varnish Cloud Cuckoo Land

Some pretty polish to show you today! Scofflaw Nail Varnish Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Cloud Cuckoo Land has a pale lavender creme base and is full of glitter in two shades of purple, copper, and white. I used two medium coats on short nails. No undies, but you could layer this. Nice glitter payout, but I recommend letting it sit upside down for awhile before applying as my larger glitters were all at the bottom. Photos are with top coat. I really enjoyed this polish. Pretty and feminine.

To purchase you have three options. Scofflaws Etsy shopLlarowe or Femme Fatale Cosmetics. No matter where you live, you have options. Please note that as I write this Scofflaw's Etsy store is empty, but I did see that this polish was available on Llarowe. Hope you enjoyed!

COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Catching Fire polish

Catching Fire, need I say more. So excited for this movie. Had to get the polish too. I chose three to try and will be showing those to you today. Seared Bronze, Rogue Red and Black Heat.

I'll just give you the rundown here so I don't keep repeating myself. First, they are all the small glosstini size bottles. Just be aware in case you were hoping for full size. All have very similar formulas. As in terrible, sadly. Even on my poor little nubbies I didn't get full coverage. At first I was trying thinner coats, three, still patchy. Switched to two thicker coats, still patchy. And then took forever to dry. No winning here. Besides the horrid application, the colours didn't exactly rock my boat. Maybe it's just that I like the series so much that I expected too much? For me, the only one that was tolerable was Black Heat. Remember, just my opinion everyone! Don't hate on me if you happen to love these!

Well, thoughts? Have you tried any of this collection? Am I the only one who isn't a fan? Anyway, thanks for stopping by today. Hope to be back with something prettier soon!

Sally Hansen Triple Shine, my four picks

While at my local drugstore I came across a display of the new Triple Shine line, so of course I had to get some. I picked out four! I thought that was pretty good self control.
Forgive my lack of clean up in todays photos. I was in a hurry and had to skip it in order to get all four polishes swatched.

Vanity Flare is a medium purple creme. Pretty good formula. I used two coats. No top coat used in pics. Dries quite glossy.

sally hansen triple shine

Scale Up is a topper. Appears really thick in the bottle, but surprisingly wasn't. Contains holo shards and micro glitters. The large pieces lay flat to the nail. One coat over Vanity Flare.

Bait Me is a light grey pearl shimmer. To be in honest, I thought this was a creme with a bit of shimmer in the bottle. Wasn't until I applied it that I learned it was a pearl finish. Pleasantly surprised by that! Normally not my go to finish. Great formula and I only needed two coats for full coverage. May need one more on longer nails. No top coat.

Hypnautical is a topper with iridescent micro and flakie glitter. Thought this would show off the aqua tint that you see in the bottle, but no. A bit disappointed by that.

So overall thoughts are that these have decent formula and are very shiny without using top coat. Even though we'll all use some anyway! Vanity Flare is nice, but doesn't wow me. I am sure I have other purples like it in my collection. I loved Bait Me!!!! Definitely my fave of the four I chose. The two toppers are fine, but again don't wow me. Have you tried any of these yet? Thoughts?

Thanks for having a boo, hope to see you back soon.
