CandyNail Gray Gumballs swatch and review

Hello everyone. Today I have a polish from a new to me indie brand, CandyNail. This is a Canadian maker who opened up shop recently. Polishes are 5 free and cruelty free. For more information, please visit their website.

Gray Gumballs is a medium grey creme with black, blue, peach, green, white, pink and red glitters scattered throughout. The formula is on the thin side, but had great coverage. I used three thin coats for full coverage. Applied smoothly and the glitter laid smooth to the nail. My only complaint was that I wished more of the coloured glitters ended up on the nail. One other thing to note is that the name of the polish isn't on the bottle, just on the box it came in. I admit that this kind of bothers me. I think it's a polish OCD thing.

I didn't test this polish for wear time. You can follow CandyNail on Facebook and their site has a link to Instagram. It appears that at this time shipping is only available to Canada and the US.
Thanks for the visit everyone!

Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk collection

Today I have two polishes from The Sweet Talk collection. This set will be re-releasing tomorrow on the Rainbow Honey site. Follow on Facebook for all the details!

XOXO is a glitter topper. Lots of holo shimmer in the clear base. Predominately red with some purple and gold. No issues with application. I used one coat over A England Iseult.

Sweet Talk is a white crelly base with pink shimmer. Light blue, purple and red glitter. I used three coats for full coverage. You could also layer over white. Applied perfectly. The shimmer is subtle, but more noticeable in person. Smooth with regular top coat.

Emily de Molly Soon and stamping

Today I have Emily de Molly Soon and some stamping using plate EDM02.

Soon is a medium grey crelly with various size hexagon glitter in blue, green, fuchsia, and purple. I had full coverage in three coats. You could also layer over a similar colour base. Not too chunky, completely smooth with a coat of Seche Vite.

Emily de Molly recently released five stamping plates. Below is the image I used. I stamped over Soon with Racy by Formula X For Sephora. It is a metallic lavender. I have a review of that polish HERE. Because I have small nails only some of the image is on my nail. Image is also rotated differently on each nail. For those with larger nails, these images should fit. Had no issues with my stamper picking up the image.

For more information on Emily de Molly please visit her site. You will find information on international stockists and her full line of polishes and plates. Plates can be sent worldwide but polish is only directly available for shipping if you are in Australia.

Thank you for stopping in! Have you noticed that my stamping is getting better. Yeah me!

Honest Puck by Wing Dust

Honest Puck from WingDust collections swatch and review.

Honest Puck is a emerald green crelly based polish. Full of shimmer and gold, greens and iridescent glitter in various sizes. This has a highly pigmented base. I used two coats which gave me almost full coverage. I stopped because it was thickening as I was applying. I love the way all the colours in this play off of each other. It's very earthy to me. I don't know if that makes sense?

Sephora by OPI Cover Me In Petals

I am actually quite disappointed that Sephora no longer carries these polishes. I liked most of the shades I tried. Although the new Fomula X is great too!

Cover Me In Petals is a vibrant coral creme. The formula is thin, but highly pigmented. Be careful of too much polish on your brush. I used three thin coats for full coverage. Self levels on its own.

This line of polish is no longer available in Sephora stores, but I have seen them at local discount chains. I bought this at Winners.

Formula X For Sephora - Racy

Racy is one of the new chrome effect polishes from Sephoras new polish line. I have to say that normally I really despise chrome finishes, but this was a pleasant surprise! Actually, I had two surprises. The first is that I had full coverage in one coat. The second is that it wasn't streaky. Imagine that. On the Sephora site this is described as a metallic lavender. Pretty accurate. The photo they use on the site I find a bit deceiving. It looks more purple in that photo then it does in person.

Photos are one coat of Racy with top coat. Natural light. I did not test this for wear time. I did test this as a stamping polish though. It works! In fact it worked really well, so even if you aren't a fan of chrome finishes you should consider it for that fact.

Le Printemps by Renaissance Custom Lacquer

Renaissance Custom Lacquer is a new indie brand based out of Canada. One of the creators is Meghan from the blog Will Paint Nails For Food. The other creator is her sister Laura. I'll include all links following the pictures.
All polish is 3 free and shipping is available internationally. Polishes retail for $9.00.

Le Printemps (spring) is from the Seasons collection. This is an almost lime green creme with gold shimmer. There are also some lavender, light blue and iridescent and holographic glitter. Even though there is a lot of glitter in this, it is all very subtle. Quite like the effect. I used three thin coats plus top coat. You could get away with two thicker coats and still get full coverage.

I really do think spring with this polish. I know not everyone loves a green polish, but I do! Application was great.  No issues at all.
You can find the Renaissance shop HERE. Happy to report that this polish is currently in stock. They also have a facebook page that you can follow HERE. Great place to see sneak peeks of future shades and keep an eye out for sales!
Thanks for visiting everyone! I hope you enjoyed. I will have more Renaissance swatches for you in the future.

Zoya Dahlia swatches

Dahlia is a PixieDust shade from Zoya. Personally Zoya makes my favourite textured polishes.

Dahlia is black with fine silver glitter. Opaque in two coats. No top coat, of course. Some of the PixieDusts do look good with top coat, but I prefer them without.

Being in Canada I have few options to purchase these. My go to is Nail Polish Canada. I sometimes can find them at Winners. How do you guys feel about textured polish. Is the fad done? I think they might stick around a bit longer. Also, just an FYI, I think the PixieDusts are great on toes! Try it out.

Black Sheep Lacquer One Woman Army thermal polish

Hello everyone
Back today with a new release from Black Sheep Lacquer. This is One Woman Army. When cool it is a light army green and a warm white when hands are warmer. Lots of gold shimmer and flashes of blue thrown in. Photos are three coats with a coat of top coat. All photos taken in artificial light. Sorry, the weather just wasn't cooperating.

These are the warm photos. My only complaint is the visible nail line. When I applied my hands were cool, so I was applying while it was green, so I didn't notice. No thickening of polish while applying. Even coverage and no streaking.

These are the cool. With my skin tone my fingers showed a bit pink. My apologies. The shimmer is very abundant even with the darker colour. The blue flashes are still noticeable as well. I thought they might get washed out, happy to report I was wrong.

I really loved the macro shots of both these polishes. Unfortunately I couldn't seem to get a decent shot of it in transition.
Black Sheep Lacquer is available HERE. The polish is Leaping Bunny certified! No guessing whether a seller is just saying that their product is cruelty free! For updates and new releases you can also follow on FACEBOOK.

Erin sent this polish for review with a purchase I recently made. All opinions are my own.

And I want to wish Black Sheep Lacquer a very happy one year anniversary of being in business!

Tri polish Tuesday challenge

I'm back with another tri polish challenge submission. Please don't laugh too hard at this weeks entry! I'll give you a bit of background first. This week I decided to try making my own stamping decals. First time! The decals themselves actually turned out pretty good. Now for epic facepalm - I put them on my nails wrong side up. Duh ;) Yeah, I really did that. And then not enough time to redo them so you get my partially failed mani this week. And yes I know I didn't do a very good job of trimming them to my nail. It's harder then it looks!
All polishes this week are from Julep. Black - Cleopatra, red - January, yellow - Blake, orange - Parker.

Julep Cleopatra black latex polish

Julep Cleopatra is a black polish with a waxy finish. Please note that this does not contain latex. I actually really like this type of finish. I even have the Wax That top coat from Cult Nails so I can do this to all my polish. So even though I like this type of polish, this particular one just didn't cut it. You need to apply VERY precisely or else it will be noticeable where you missed or applied too much. You'll notice this in my photos. I like my polish to be a bit forgiving when it comes to this. Or usually a top coat will help to even things out, but this is designed to be worn without top coat. You'll also notice that I ended up with some little clumps of something (pigment maybe) on a couple of the nails. Really unappealing to look at! This is two coats of Cleopatra with no top coat.

Julep Cleopatra

So this is ending up in my nail art only pile! A disappointment to be sure. Thoughts? Am I the only one that has mysterious clumps in their polish?  Thanks for stopping in today. Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Yule Light Up My Life by Serum No 5

This polish was part of a trio released as an LE Holiday collection. The other two polishes are HoHo Holodays by Lacquer Lust and Naughty and Nice from Polished by KPT.

Yule Light Up My Life is a glitter topper that glows in the dark. Unfortunately I don't have a black light so I failed at getting a picture of the glow. I can see red, gold, green, blue, black and maybe some other colours in this topper. It is really a lot of fun. It also isn't limited to just wearing it for the holidays. I decided to layer this over China Glaze Elephant Walk. I used two coats. Applied very easily.

I really liked this combo, but of course you could layer it over just about anything. For more information, please visit Serum No. 5 site. Currently shipping of polish is only available to the US and Canada, but you can find a list of stockists on the site.
Thanks for having a look at today's post. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
