Vacation Time ...

I haven't forgotten about you, I swear.

Sorry for my lack of posts, but the family is getting ready for our vacation. I have been running around like a crazy lady making sure everything has been taken care of.  You know the story, a women's work is never done!

We will be going on a cruise to Alaska for a week and then a bit of a staycation when we get home. I hope to be back to posting in about 2 to 3 weeks. I will still be on facebook checking in to see what's new, just no posts.

Hope you are all enjoying your summer vacations and I will see you soon! Thanks for sticking with me.

Girly Bits Spring It On Me!

Today I have Girly Bits Spring It On Me! to show you.

Spring It On Me! is a lightly tinted lavender base that is meant to be layered.  Contains various size and shaped glitter in pink, purple, green, white, and silver. I may have missed something!  Applies nicely.  No dabbing required. Wasn't top coat hungry either. I really loved the colour combo of the glitter in this. Really reminds me of a garden in spring.  My photos show two coats layered over Essie Full Steam Ahead.

Girly Bits can be purchased from Pam's shop HERE. There is also a distribution link on the site to point you in the direction of other stockists. The world is pretty much covered by this list so you can choose the most appropriate for yourself. I ordered this straight from the site.

Thank you for spending some time with me today! Hope to see you back soon.

Essie saran wrap manicure

Today's post is a dabbed saran wrap mani using Essie Turquoise and Caicos and Naughty Nautical. If you haven't tried this technique before, it is very easy with great results.
I used Turquoise and Caicos as the base. Once dry I applied one coat of Naughty Nautical and then dabbed off with the scrunched up saran wrap. I suggest doing one nail at a time so the polish doesn't dry up too much before you can get it off the nail. Once that is done, apply top coat! That's it. Easy peasy.

There you have it. Subtle but pretty! Thanks for stopping in today and I hope to see you back. As always, comments are welcome. Please excuse the dry cuticles. We have been having some dry hot days that have been drying out my hands. Cheers.

Dance Legend Termo Trio no 1

Dance Legend Termo Trio no 1 is a colour changing polish. What caught my eye is that it changes into three different colours instead of the usual two.

I have to start by saying that I have a love/hate relationship with this polish. Loved the finished result, hated getting there. The formula is thick. When applying it was in the cool tone (purple) and after two coats I thought it looked great. Went outside to the sun, hands warmed up and the polish turned a light blue and I realized that the two coats were not as great as I thought. Applied another coat. Still some patchy areas when warm. It was just hard to get even coverage with the formula for me. Slow dry time even with quick dry top coat. Dries to a matte finish. Showed tip wear at about the 24 hour mark.

Also had a hard time getting accurate photos. It's hard when you're trying to catch three different shades at once! Bare with me, I took a lot of pics. All photos are with top coat.

purple after running under cold water

 all three in sun

As you can see, the longer the nail, the better. I wouldn't recommend this type of polish to someone with short nails. You just won't get the full effect. To get all three colours to show up at the same time, I resorted to putting my hand in the freezer. The things we do for polish! I purchased this polish from Llarowe. It is currently out of stock, but they are expecting more shipments.
Thanks for staying with me! Hope to see you back soon.

Dance Legend No 9 Sand!Which? and No 12 White Noise

Today I am showing you two Dance Legend polishes from the Sahara Crystal line. The line is textured polish.

Sand!Which? is a pink glitter with silver shimmer. Full coverage in two coats. Formula was on the thicker side but had no issues applying it. Average drying time. Also, it dries shiny on its own. Photos below show pics with and without top coat. I can't decide which I like better. Overall, I was very happy with this polish.

Next up is White Noise. Although this is from the same line, it is completely different. It has a matte white creme base with small black and silver glitter. Again, the formula was on the thicker side, but this was much harder to apply nicely. I used two coats and then dabbed a third to cover some areas. You will also notice in the pictures that it does hang over the end of the nail. I didn't file this down as I was just doing some swatching of it. This also had a longer drying time. It kind of makes me think that it looks like painting your nails in white out and then sprinkling some pepper on them. Photos below show with and without topcoat. Overall, not a fan. Disappointed as I was quite excited to get this one.

These polishes were purchased from Llarowe. As I write this Sand!Which? is in stock and White Noise is sold out. I would sign up for their newsletter to learn about restocks. Thanks for stopping by today, and as always I would love to hear you thoughts! Dance Legend is new to me, but I have a few more that I purchased at the same time to show you guys. Stay tuned!

Fuzzy Coat from Sally Hansen

Hey everyone. I broke down and bought two of the new fuzzy coat textured polishes from Sally Hansen. Even though I hate bar glitter, I decided I had to give it a try. I purchased these from my local Shoppers Drug Mart. They were on sale for $5.99.

Wool Lite is light pink and white micro bar glitter in a clear base. I have two coats layered over Lime Crime Parfait Day. Top coat is a must to help smooth. Although I didn't have any of the bars sticking up off the nail, they did tend to hang off the ends and needed to be pushed back onto the nail. I didn't try, but I am pretty sure there is no way you could get full coverage with these.

Fuzzy Fantasy is the light green one. Possibly a bit of yellow mixed in. This one was extremely hard to photograph. I have two coats layered over Lime Crime Pastelchio. I think this one would have been better layered over a contrasting colour?

Overall, I don't think I am a fan. They looked okay, but bar glitter just doesn't do it for me. How do you feel about bar glitter? At least I can say I tried. Thanks for stopping in. Hope to see you back soon.

Sweetcheeks Polish Vous Etes Mon Soleil and Gothic Ember

Good morning all! Today I have two more polishes from Sweetcheeks to show off! Yummy holo goodness coming your way.

First up is Vous Etes Mon Soleil.  For those that don't speak french, You Are My Sunshine. Vous Etes Mon Soleil is a purple based scattered holographic. It was made in honour of her mom. Photos show two coats with top coat. No undies were used, but you could layer this over black. Really loved this!

Next is Gothic Ember. This is a black crelly base full of mostly orange and red holographic glitter. Full coverage using two thicker coats. Me thinks this would be great for halloween! Photos are shown with top coat. My apologies on the clean up. Thought I had it all, but apparently I'm blind.

Sweetcheeks Polish can be purchased HERE. Also, don't forget to follow on FACEBOOK for updates. $1.00 from each bottle sold will be donated to Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue. Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you love these as much as I do!

Photos are two coats of Super Temp with top coat. On the brush the polish is quite thick and I thought I would have some application issues, but I didn't! I possibly could have done a third coat. I did notice some vnl out in the sun. Nice and smooth to the touch. I does dry down a bit so make sure to use top coat. Although I am sure you all do anyway!
Digital Nails is available on Etsy HERE. For information on restocks and new releases, follow on Facebook. Thanks for having a look and I hope you enjoyed!
