Black Friday was part of Llarowe's November A Box, Indied. Unfortunately, this was the only option for purchase of this polish. It makes for a great new years mani. It is like fireworks in a bottle! Three thin coats with top coat. Holy Grail was purchased from Nail Polish Canada. Like every A England polish I have tried, it was flawless!
Have a safe night everyone! See you in 2014.

Christmas Day Santa Hats

So here is my (better late then never) Christmas Day manicure!

I decided to go for a variation of a Santa hat with accent nails. I got this idea from a picture I saw floating around on facebook in the summer. At this point I have no idea who it belonged to. Sorry!

My accent nail is Delush Polish Born In Blood. This was part of Adrianne's Dexter halloween collection! For the hats, the clear part of the nail is China Glaze Snow Globe. The hats are China Glaze Ring In The Red, White On White with a dab of Fairy Dust on top for the trim.

Overall, I was quite happy with these. Whimsical and fun and festive, which is what I was hoping for! Hope you all had a great Christmas!

Christmas Now by KBShimmer

Christmas Now is from the Christmas blogger collection. This polish was made with Crystal's Crazy Combos. When I think of Christmas glitter, this is what comes to mind!

Christmas Now is a bright green jelly filled with gold stars and various size and colours of squares and circles. And when I say filled, I mean FILLED! So much glitter that you don't need to go hunting for anything. Application was easy considering everything in this polish. I did need two coats of Clearly On Top to mostly smooth it out. This applies thickly, so you should only need two coats. And it is a jelly, so it can also be layered.

Green, squishy goodness! As you know, I am partial to green. KBShimmer can be purchased from their site HERE, or if you are international, you can buy from Harlow & Co.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are all ready for the holidays.

"Let's Make A Christmas Miracurl"

I know, what am I talking about! Well, Nail Polish Canada is giving away three BaByliss MiraCurl's this Christmas. In fact, the winners will be announced on Christmas Day. For details on how to enter please use this link. http://www.nailpolishcanada.com/products/miracurl-by-babyliss.html.

Let’s Make a Christmas Miracurl!

There’s too much pain and suffering in the world due to flat hair. Burns, chronic lateness, and spousal disputes only scrape the surface (ok, that may be a slight exaggeration).
We’re taking a stand by giving away three Miracurls to whoever can prove they are the most “in need” of one!
Okay, so I'm not a good at coming up with funny and/or thought provoking ideas. My entry is just the truth. I always burn my fingers and/or knuckles while trying to curl my hair. I know. I am almost as bad at curling my hair as I am at trying to figure out how to use my blog. Now you know why it is so basic. Sorry, a little off topic. Anyway, wouldn't it be nice to have a something that did all the work for you. It even beeps when it is finished doing the curl!
So, don't forget to enter this contest. You don't need to have a blog. Open to residents of Canada and United States. You can find other details on the NPC site.
Thanks for having a look everyone and good luck to all the entrants!

Festive Stamping with MoYou London

Yes, I know this isn't the best stamping ever, but it was a victory of sorts. I finally managed to get a squishy stamper to work! (mostly)

I used MoYou London plate Festive 04. Base colour is Julep Kate and stamped with Mentality Sexy. So, overall this turned out okay. I think the biggest problem is that the designs are too big for my itty, bitty nails! Live and learn, I now know not to order the XL plates. The regular will be fine for my nail size.

As you can see, the patterns were too big for my nails. Still proud of myself for making improvements. Thanks for having a look today!

OPI Underneath the Mistletoe and Sally Hansen Twinkle Toes-ty

One week till Christmas! How did that happen? I should be wrapping gifts right now, but how can I resist posting pretty polish swatches. Today I have OPI Underneath The Mistletoe and Sally Hansen Twinkle Toes-ty accent.

Underneath The Mistletoe is a red crelly with fine glitter thrown in. Applied perfectly in two coats. Super eye catching in person. I feel the cranberry vibe when I look at it. Top coat really makes it stand out. No issues to report.
Twinkle Toes-ty is a clear based topper with gold and pink holographic glitter in fine and medium. I LOVE this. I truly don't think I have anything quite like it! Could be worn over a variety of colours. This is two coats as an accent. Coverage was pretty even and the base wasn't too thick.

Rainbow Honey The Final Battle swatches

Today I have two polishes from Rainbow Honey's The Final Battle collection. Ruby Weapon and Lifestream.

Rainbow Honey is now being carried at Nail Polish Canada, and they sent me these to review. Retail price is $11.50 cdn and all orders within Canada currently ship free. They also ship to the United States free on orders over $50.00 or a $12.00 fee for orders under $50.00. Nail Polish Canada has a wide selection of Rainbow Honey polishes.

Ruby Weapon is red with gold and copper shimmer. Kind of has a burnt look to it. I had full coverage in two coats on my nails. May require three with longer nails. Very smooth application and self leveled completely. Eye catching without being in your face, which I like. Shimmer is very noticeable. Photos with top coat, but this is very shiny on its own.

Lifestream is a clear based holographic shimmer with green and white glitter. Also some iridescent micro bar glitter. Great coverage for a clear based glitter. The only problem I encountered with application was some of the glitter dragging over the nail tip. Easily remedied by tapping it back on! All glitter was flat to the nail and smooth with one coat of top coat. Index finger shows two coats of Lifestream with no undies, the rest shows one coat of Lifestream over Sally Hansen Jaded.

NOTD sponged failure

I decided to share my sponging fail today. One of those manicures that I imagined to look much nicer on the nail. Oh well. Gotta try, right?

Polishes used were Sephora by OPI I Come In Peas, Maybelline Bold Gold, and Nicole by OPI Star Of The Party.

So, something was lost in translation, but I thought I would share anyway. As most of us know, not every manicure is flawless! Thanks for stopping by and hope you all have a great weekend.

Lunar Halo by Femme Fatale Cosmetics

I have to start by warning you that this post features my new super nubbin nails! I had a terrible break on my swatch hand. Right down to the nail line! Ouch. Things like this happen and the polish must go on! Nubbins it is.

Lunar Halo is described by Femme Fatale as "A shimmering beige filled with iridescent blue and green shimmers, and accents of silver. Best layered over a matching base colour."
I chose to layer this over OPI My Vampire Is Buff. I used two coats of Lunar Halo over my base colour. This polish was extremely thick. Please be warned. Although it can be manipulated, it was difficult to apply nicely. The large hexes tend to sink, so I recommend letting the bottle sit upside down before using. This made it much easier to retrieve the large glitters. I used two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top top coat to smooth it all out. Overall, I like the final look of the polish, but I wish the formula was more manageable. I also need to point out that I did end up with chipping at about the 24 hour mark. I think this was due to the thickness. For more shades and where to find international stockists, please visit the Femme Fatale Cosmetics website.

Okay, no hating on the super nubs! Thank you all for visiting today.

PolishTBH Sorcerer's Stone thermal polish

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Busy, busy these days. I'm sure I am not alone there.

Today I have a thermal polish from PolishTBH. Sorcerer's Stone is from The Diagon Alley collection.

When warm this polish is a light red with a mauve undertone. Cool it is a dark brown. Black, red and silver holo glitter has been added. In the bottle I thought it was a bit of a strange colour combo, but on the nail it really works. No issues with application. I used three thin coats. If applied thicker you will only need two. Wear time was great. I removed after three days, but the polish was still going strong. All glitters lay flat to the nail.

Please excuse the water droplets. If I tried to dry my hands first, the nails would go back to being mostly dark. It's cold here! PolishTBH is available to purchase HERE. The thermal polishes retail for $10.00US. I hope you enjoyed this polish as much as I did!

Dear Rus Marshmallow No. 7 swatch and review

Dear Rus is a brand from South Korea that is now being carried at Llarowe. I was unable to find much information about their polishes, so I just bought one to try out. I went with one from the Marshmallow line just to see what they meant by marshmallow! Turns out they mean thick creme polish. The polish doesn't have an actual name, just No. 7. This is described as a dusty jade green.

Marshmallow No. 7
Officially described as a dusty jade green, but could be considered a bit minty in my opinion. This was close to a one coater. I used two because of a few lighter areas. I did get some large bubbles on one nail. Self levels nicely.

Marshmallow No 7

Marshmallow No 7

So overall, this is a good polish, but certainly nothing special. Retails at Llarowe for $10.00US. 3 free and cruelty free. Because of the thickness I think this may work for stamping, although I haven't tried. Have any of you tried other polishes from this brand?
Thanks for the visit today!

Color Club Portfolio

Color Club Portfolio is a deep purple with an amazing flash of green duochrome! Unfortunately, it was next to impossible to get a decent picture! Ugh, I hate it when that happens.

Photos shown are two coats with a coat of top coat.

As you can see, after three days of wear, I did have a bit of tip wear. Nothing too extreme. No staining upon removal either!
I got this polish at Nail Polish Canada. I actually redeemed some of my points for it! Yeah free!

KBShimmer Fall Shades past and present

Today I decided to pair KBShimmer You Autumn Know and Quantum Leaf together. The first is from this years fall collection and the latter from last years collection. I'll admit, they didn't quite go together like I thought they would! Love them individually though.

You Autumn Know is a white based crelly with fuchsia, gold, and orange glitter in hexagons and micro bars. Although micro bar glitter is much easier to deal with, I'm just not a bar glitter fan. Other then that, the colours look great together. I used three thin coats for full coverage. One coat of KBShimmer clearly on top smoothed it all out.

Quantum Leaf has an antique goldish base. Various size orange and red glitter. I look at this and immediately think of fall leaves. Sadly, I think this polish is now discontinued. Photos show three thin coats with a coat of clearly on top to smooth it out.
